Written exams and student evaluation process
The evaluation of the students for the eight taught courses is done mainly with written exams, assignments and their presentation (power-point) during the semester as well as with laboratory exercises. For the formation of the final grade, all the activities carried out within the course are taken into account.
After the end of the lectures in each semester, the written exams are held. Topics can be in the form of developmental, critical, multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank question.
The evaluation for specific categories of students with special problems is carried out with flexible learning methods in order to treat them accordingly, following a decision of the program’s coordinating committee. Repeat examinations in the same examination room are provided in exceptional cases (e.g. illness).
Due to the large number of examiners, in order to avoid mistakes during the process of correcting the papers and to ensure the efficiency and speed of grading, the procedure has been structured as follows:
- The topics for each corrector are written and corrected on a separate adhesive.
- The subjects are graded by each proofreader online, at a specific link, and the average is calculated automatically. The final grade is validated by the responsible teacher (Faculty Member) of the course.
- Teaching faculty members outside the Department of Pharmacy correct their own topics.
- Teachers-external collaborators from industry or other Bodies (eg EOF) suggest topics related to their teaching field. The correction of the subjects is done by the responsible teacher of the course (Faculty Member) according to the indicated answer and the auxiliary help of the partner, when and if deemed necessary by the person in charge.
- Exam grades are not rounded but are written exactly including the decimal point.
- The grades are sent to the secretariat and then posted on the PMS website for the information of the students.
