Purpose/Objectives of the Course

The following thematic units are developed in the course: Introduction to dosage forms for drug administration. Modern formulation techniques to increase bioavailability. Characterization of pharmaceutical substances and excipients. Characterization of drug substances and their properties. Granulation, extrusion, production of microspheres (pellets). Pharmaceutical nanotechnology – prosthetics. Preparation of nanoparticles, liposomes, microspheres. Controlled release injectables. Innovative drug systems for transdermal, ocular, parietal, nasal, pulmonary and oral delivery. Permeability studies with innovative pharmacoforms.
